BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis players Hugo Car and Alexandr Achour will compete in the ITA Cup this weekend at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

The duo will compete in doubles and Car will compete in singles after winning the ITA Regionals to advance to the ITA Cup.

In singles, Car is the No. 2 seed and will face Tyler Junior College’s Faiz Nasyam in the quarterfinals on Friday. Glendale Community College’s Jean-Baptiste Badon is the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

In doubles, the duo of Car and Achour are the No. 4 seed and will open the tournament against Glendale’s Badon and Lance Morgan on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals.

The winner in singles and doubles will advance to the ITA Super Bowl, facing the champions of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA on Sunday.

The winners will get a wildcard into the final event of the fall, the Fall National Championships which will be held Nov. 1-5 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
