BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team will host Daytona State College Saturday night needing a win to claim the Region 8 Conference title.
Saturday night’s game at Orlando Health Stadium is the second meeting of the season between the top 10 teams in the nation and will be broadcast locally on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.
Eastern Florida State College won the first meeting 3-2 on Sept. 19 at Daytona State College and the Falcons will look to force a third game Saturday at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.
The series has been close the past few seasons with Daytona State College leading 3-2-1 in the past six meetings.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the matchup on a seven-game win streak and are 11-1 on the season while Daytona State College has won two in a row and have a seven-game unbeaten streak. The Falcons are 9-2-2.
Both teams have scored 45-plus goals this season with the Titans outscoring opponents 56-10 and Daytona State College has outscored teams 48-14 led by Didier Jean Baptiste who has scored eight goals this season.
Titans duo Daniele Verdirosi and Daiki Okada have each scored nine times this season.
