Titans pick up their fourth straight conference
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball team defeated Indian River State College in a Citrus Conference match on the road.
The 17th-ranked Titans picked up their fourth straight conference win in four sets, defeating the Pioneers 25-14, 25-15, 20-25, 25-12 to improve to 6-5 in the conference.
The Titans went on a 7-2 run early in the first set to lead 14-8 and then another run to lead 20-10. Emma Kiser closed out the first set with a kill and the Titans were up 1-0.
The second set saw another run from the Titans as Sofia Kamke served 14 straight points and the Titans went from a 13-5 lead to a 21-5 advantage.
Up 2-0, Indian River State College took the lead and withstood two separate runs from the Titans to hang on for the 25-20 win.
But the Titans took back control in the fourth set as Sophia Knowles, Dominae Jordan and Sofia Kamke all recorded kills as the Titans cruised to a 25-12 win to finish off the Pioneers.
Eastern Florida State College will host No. 1 Florida Southwestern on Saturday afternoon in a Citrus Conference match beginning at 2 p.m. at Titan Field House.
