Merritt Island, Port St. John Little league Win Big

The Florida District 22 All-Star Tournament for 2024 continued Wednesday night with the 8/9/10 Baseball Division at Holder Park in Mims. 

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – The Florida District 22 All-Star Tournament for 2024 continued Wednesday night with the 8/9/10 Baseball Division at Holder Park in Mims. 

There were two games tonight:

■ On Field 1, Port St. John Little League 13, Mims Little League 0.

In the second inning, Port St. John’s Tanner Kordula grounded out, bringing in Griffin Plecki and Graden Speece for the first 2 runs of the game. Lane Rice and Colton Cunningham would each add 2 runs as both Plecki and Speece would score again in Port’s 8-run 4th inning.

For Mims, Layne Hawthorne and Aiden Brantley would each reach base, but would not score as Port St. John went on to win 13-0.

■ On Field 2, Merritt Island Little League 17, Rockledge Little League 2

Rockledge Little League (visitor) got on the board with two runs in the 2nd inning as Brock Abaloz and Hogan Hayes crossed the plate.

Merritt Island Little League (home) had 11 runs in their half of the 1st inning, while Kaeal Jenkins, Marty Zeller, Andrew Lohr, Cooper Milton, and Henry Dearaeyo scored multiple runs in their 17-2 victory.

Action continues Thursday night at Holder Park as Indian River City Little League will meet Merritt Island Little League.
